Jiu-jitsu is a martial art known among practitioners as the gentle art of folding clothes while someone is still wearing them.

A man experienced a bit of that Monday at the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu in Indianapolis.

Surveillance video from the June 3 incident shows a young employee unlocking the front door and exchanging words with a man in front who appears to charge at him in the doorway. Despite being caught off guard and initially rebuffed, the employee's martial arts training quickly begins.

The employee, 18-year-old blue belt Gavin Archer, told WISH-TV he thought the man was trying to steal his car out front after seeing him rummage through it. When things escalated, Archer said he used the charging man's momentum against him, turning and shooting him down.

Archer throws several punches before holding him in a chokehold as the video ends.
