XDefiant releases six free character and weapon skins, grab them before they expire

XDefiant Season 1 begins and there is a lot to enjoy with Ubisoft's first proper chapter for their free-to-play multiplayer experience. There is a new battle pass containing a free and premium track of rewards, but Ubisoft has also released some free skins. Here you will find how to get the new six free XDefiant character and weapon skins before they expire.

You can check out the Season 1 patch notes to see all of the new content and gameplay changes. One of the biggest additions is Ranked, but fans are worried about Ranked as Ubisoft still hasn't fixed the game's biggest issue. There is also a new faction that can nullify headshots, which has some fans concerned that they are already overpowered.

While it remains to be seen whether the new faction and Ranked are fun, what we do know is that XDefiant fans, right now, can unlock six character and weapon skins.

How to unlock free XDefiant character and weapon skins

In conjunction with the start of XDefiant Season 1, Ubisoft is releasing three character skins and three weapon skins to claim for free via Twitch Drops.

Below are the rewards and the criteria to unlock them:

All XDefiant Twitch streams:

XP booster – watch streams for one hour
Avalance weapon skin SVD – watch streams for three hours
Shamrock weapon skin M870 – watch streams for five hours

Partnered XDefiant Twitch streams:

Extraction RPK weapon skin – watch partner streams for one hour
Extraction Kaptan character skin – watch partner streams for three hours
Extraction Stark character skin – watch partner streams for five hours

Twitch quest:

Viral character skin green – purchase 2 Tier 1 subs for any partner channel playing XDefiant

The first six Twitch Drops rewards will expire at 10AM PT/1PM ET/6PM BST on July 30th. As for the Twitch Quest, this will expire at 11:59PM PT on July 29th, and 02:59AM ET/07:59 BST on July 30th.

Ubisoft has shared a list of all partnered channels for the partner streams and Twitch Quest. To complete the Twitch Quest you will need to follow the below steps:

Log in to your Twitch account (if necessary, first create a Twitch account for free at Twitch.tv).
Visit one of the eligible Twitch streaming channels in the XDeifant category.
While the channel is live streaming XDefiant purchase a cumulative of two subscriptions of any tier to earn the reward (Prime Subs are excluded).

And below are steps to unlock Twitch Drops:

Step 1: Link your Twitch account and Ubisoft account. Click here to link accounts now.
Step 2: Watch eligible streams. You'll earn progress toward various items by watching streams for 60 minutes or more. See above for details on how to obtain each available item.
Step 3: Claim Your Rewards. When you've earned a Drop, be sure to claim it in your Twitch Inventory. Once complete, your rewards will be waiting for you in-game.
