Wrestler and teacher arrested after alleged attempted meeting with minor

An independent professional wrestler has been arrested after allegedly trying to meet an underage girl before being caught in a sting operation.

Darren Benedick, a Boston teacher, has been charged with child enticement and distribution of material harmful to minors, Boston Channel 25 reports. Benedick was allegedly caught up in an undercover operation to meet a 14-year-old girl he had been chatting with online. It was actually an undercover police operation. Benedick works as a physical education teacher at Salem Academy Charter School and has been placed on administrative leave.

Benedick competed in independent competitions under the name Reginal Kensington III and commentated for Chaotic Wrestling. A statement from the promotion read:

“Today we learned that Chaotic commentator Darren Benedick was arrested for encouraging child prostitution and distributing harmful content to minors. Chaotic has a strict zero-tolerance policy and has immediately terminated all relationships with him.

“It is a sad reality that this type of behavior has been prevalent throughout the history of the industry. Chaotic Wrestling is committed to cultivating a safe environment and will continue to take active steps to guide the company toward a better future.”

On social media, Benedick also refers to himself as the coach of the New England Pro Wrestling Academy, although NEPWA does not list him as such. A statement from the Academy echoes Chaotic Wrestling's sentiment, describing Benedick as a “former assistant coach.”
