Islamabad [Pakistan]June 15 (ANI): The Immigration Cell of the Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan (FIA) has arrested two wanted suspected human traffickers, who were trying to flee the country, ARY News reported.

The two suspects were arrested during a major operation carried out by the FIA immigration cell at the Peshawar airport.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the operation of the immigration cell resulted in the arrest of two suspects, identified as Muhammad Nabi and Aminullah.

Muhammad Nabi, a key figure in human trafficking and visa fraud, was apprehended while trying to board a flight to Oman, as reported by ARY News.

During the operation, several counterfeit visa stickers were seized from Nabi's mobile phone.

Moreover, the arrested accused is involved in several cases registered at FIA Composite Circle Mardan, accused of extorting large sums of money from unsuspecting victims under false pretenses.

The prompt action of FIA immigration personnel at the Peshawar airport helped prevent Nabi's escape and ensured his transfer to Composite Circle Mardan for legal proceedings, ARY News reported.

Meanwhile, another suspect, Aminullah, was arrested while trying to travel abroad using a fake Italian resident card.

Initial investigations indicated that Aminullah acquired the counterfeit document from an organized criminal network specializing in document counterfeiting.

Later, Aminullah was handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Peshawar for further investigation and legal action, ARY News reported.

Earlier this month, six human traffickers were reportedly apprehended by the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Rawalpindi.

Under the guise of employment abroad, the arrested individuals are said to have extorted large sums from citizens. The arrests took place in many localities in Mundi Bahauddin and Rawalpindi.

This is not the first time cases of visa fraud and human trafficking have surfaced in Pakistan.

With deteriorating law and order and a crippling economy, cases of human trafficking and such frauds have become a new norm in the country. In return, the country's citizens continue to pay the price for this situation. (ANI)
