Worcester vice squad arrests two for trafficking fentanyl

WORCESTER — Members of the Worcester Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on County Club Boulevard on May 28, leading to the arrest of two men on charges of trafficking fentanyl.

Around 4:40 p.m., police entered the property and located the targets, 47-year-old Jorge Vidot-Villafane and 51-year-old Rafael Diaz.

Authorities say Diaz attempted to get rid of the evidence by making a throwing motion toward the porch or balcony as officers entered.

Police recovered two small containers in this area; one contained 20 bags of crack cocaine, while the other contained 14 bags of fentanyl and an amount of cash.

A further search of the apartment revealed a 14 gram bag of fentanyl, 17 small bags of the substance, drug paraphernalia and additional cash, for a total of 1,727 $.

Diaz faces several charges, including possession with intent to distribute class B drugs and trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl, stemming from outstanding arrest warrants.

Vidot-Villafane was arrested and also charged with possession with intent to distribute class B drugs and trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl.

Both men were taken into custody without further incident.
