Worcester police investigate stabbing that resulted in serious injuries

WORCESTER ― Police are investigating a stabbing Wednesday afternoon that left a man seriously injured.

Officers went to an address on Sunderland Road around 1 p.m., where they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Police spokesman Joe Cerosimo said officers identified a suspect who led them on a short foot chase that ended in the area of ​​Green Street. Cerosimo said the suspect kicked officers as they arrested him. He also said officers removed a large kitchen knife from the suspect's pants.

Neither man has been identified and charges have not yet been announced.
