Worcester man arrested in connection with stabbing in early May

WORCESTER — A local man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Chandler Street earlier this month, Worcester police said.

Joseph Erb, 35, of Austin Street, was arrested May 25 on a warrant charging him with assault in connection with the May 2 stabbing incident.

Police responded to a call around 3:35 p.m. on May 2 where they found a man with a stab wound on the sidewalk of Lower Chandler Street.

A first responder provided medical care until the victim could be transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Following the incident, detectives began an investigation which led to Erb's arrest.

The investigation remains active as authorities continue to gather information.

The Worcester Police Department is urging anyone with knowledge of the stabbing to come forward.
