Woman who works for Washoe County School District arrested for sexual assault of 14-year-old | News

A woman who works for the Washoe County School District has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault against a 14-year-old boy.

Early Friday morning, Reno Police Department officers took a report from a 14-year-old boy who said he had a sexual relationship with a 46-year-old woman, later identified as Caitlin Rock.

According to WCSD website Rock works at Billinghurst Middle School. Her job description on the site is listed under Support Staff as Intervention.

Detectives from RPD's Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit took over the case and arrested Rock after interviews with her and the victim.

She is charged with multiple counts of sexual assault of a minor and statutory sexual seduction.

A Washoe County School District spokesperson sent the following statement:

The Washoe County School District (WCSD) is appalled by these allegations and has not been informed of the details of the criminal investigation. This alleged behavior is reprehensible and not representative of our employees, our schools, or our district.

Ms. Rock is not currently under contract with WCSD as the contracts for instructional support professionals end today. The district will follow due process moving forward.

WCSD is fully cooperating with the Reno Police Department in their ongoing criminal investigation.
