Woman wanted in connection with fatal stabbing in April arrested, DC police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A woman wanted by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in connection with a fatal stabbing in April was arrested Monday.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of Peabody Street NW just after 11:20 p.m. on April 5 after receiving reports of an unconscious person inside an apartment. MPD found Fasil Teklemariam, 53, inside suffering from stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, more than two months after the assault, members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force found and arrested 19-year-old Audrey Miller in Hagerstown, Maryland.

She was charged with first degree murder while armed – felony murder. MPD said she would be extradited to Washington, D.C.
