Woman stabbed during Albany robbery

Albany police are investigating a robbery that occurred near Western Avenue and Sprague Place Friday evening in which a woman suffered a stab wound.

Police told Newchannel13 that it happened around 7:45 p.m. Friday evening. They say three people were sitting at the bus stop near Western Avenue and Sprague Place when they were approached by two men; one of them was armed with what appeared to be a knife. Police say the men forcibly stole items from the victims and while this was happening a 22-year-old woman was stabbed in the back.

The victim was transported to Albany Medical Center, where he is expected to recover from his injuries.
