Woman stabbed at Galleria in Houston

HOUSTON — A woman was taken to an area hospital after she was stabbed by a man Wednesday evening at the Galleria, according to preliminary reports from the Houston Police Department.

Investigators said it happened inside the mall shortly after 7 p.m., when the man and woman got into an argument on an escalator. It's unclear what exactly led to the fight, but preliminary information revealed it may have been because the woman was crowding people on the escalator.

The woman was hospitalized and was fine, police said. It is unclear what she was stabbed with.

The man was taken into custody and would be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
