Woman shot and killed in Compton identified

A 59-year-old woman who was shot and killed in a parked vehicle in Compton was identified Wednesday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

The shooting was reported shortly before 11 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of South Holly Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was found sitting in a parked vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene, sheriff's authorities said.
