Woman shot and killed in apartment complex; 4 suspects arrested and charged, sheriff says

TUNICA, Miss. (WMC) – The Tunica Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged four suspects in connection with the shooting death of a woman.

On Monday, June 3, at approximately 10:48 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call that an individual had been shot at the Tunica Courts Apartments on Old Route 61 in Tunica, TN. Mississippi.

Sheriff's deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene.

When officers arrived, they located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

The woman was treated at the scene, but later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Tunica County Coroner.

The female victim was identified as Brenda Miller, 34, of Robinsonville, Mississippi.

On June 5, 2024, four suspects were arrested and charged: Jaylon Carter (21), Dequaveon Spears (21), Jaylin Liddell (17), and DeShaun Clayborn (16).

All suspects face multiple charges, with Clayborn and Liddell facing a second-degree murder charge.
