Woman seriously injured after road rage shooting in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A young woman was seriously injured following a road rage-related shooting in Bedford County.

The Bedford County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) has confirmed that one person was transported by helicopter to an area hospital after an incident on Highway 41A Tuesday evening.


BCSO Lt. John Sweeney said one of the vehicles involved in the incident was carrying four teenagers. The other vehicle contained a man in a white Saturn SUV from the late 1990s or early 2000s. Sweeney said he shot the teens through the car's rear window.

The bullet then passed through the headrest and hit a young woman sitting in the front passenger seat. She was then transported by helicopter to an area hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

This white SUV was last seen heading toward Coffee County.

No further details were immediately released.
