Woman missing in Lockport | Local News

A Lockport woman was reported missing to city police by her husband after she left their home last week and did not return.

Sara Nicole Morningstar, 29, was reported missing Friday around 2:30 p.m. when she unexpectedly left her East Avenue residence, according to her husband Luke.

The couple had planned to go out for her birthday around 1:30 p.m. that day and he said she went upstairs and didn't come back.

“After a while…I realized she hadn't come down yet, so I decided to go upstairs and look for her. She couldn't be found anywhere in the house and the door entrance was wide open,” Luke said.

After checking the home's security cameras, surveillance video showed she walked down the stairs of the home and began walking east on East Avenue.

“That was the last time we saw her,” Luke said.

He reported her missing to Lockport police on Saturday.

He added that she is considered a “vulnerable adult” because she suffers from mental illnesses such as manic depression and bipolar disorder and has previously run away.

She is 5 feet 5 inches tall and was last seen with black and dark orange hair. She has tattoos on both arms and several facial piercings.

Anyone with information can call LPD at 716-439-6723.

When contacted Tuesday, Lockport Police Chief Steven Abbott was unable to provide additional information about the investigation.
