Woman killed in Vero Beach mobile home fire

The state fire marshal is investigating a fire that gutted a mobile home and a car, leaving a woman dead. The Indian River County Sheriff received the call around 3:54 a.m. about a person screaming for help at 555 4th St. in Vero Beach. On scene, officers and firefighters saw the mobile home completely engulfed in flames, as well as the car. in the driveway. Neighbors told firefighters they believed someone was still inside the burning home. Once firefighters extinguished the fire, inside they found the woman dead. Several mobile homes were evacuated as a precaution and have now been allowed to return. No other injuries reported or details on the cause of the fire.
