Woman killed in Limestone County crash identified

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A woman who died following a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon has been identified.

According to Limestone County Coroner Mike West, the crash happened along Sewell Road, west of AL-127, around 2:52 p.m. West tells News 19 the woman was ejected from the vehicle.

The woman was identified by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) as 59-year-old Deborah McMurtrey. Police say a 2014 Toyota Sequoia McMurtrey was driving left the road, struck a utility pole and then struck a tree.

According to ALEA, McMurtrey was pronounced dead at the scene.
