Woman hit in face with scooter and robbed near Yankee Stadium: NYPD

THE BRONX, NY (PIX11) – Police are looking for two suspects who allegedly hit a woman in the face with a scooter and stole her purse in the Bronx in April.

The incident happened around 12:18 a.m. near Yankee Stadium on April 17, according to the New York Police Department.


The victim, aged 56, was leaving the subway station located on East 161st Street when two individuals approached her. They allegedly told the victim in Spanish, “What a nice handbag,” before hitting her with the scooter and punching her several times, police said.

The suspects allegedly took her purse and fled toward Walton Avenue, according to the New York Police Department.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.

The NYPD released surveillance footage of the two suspects.
