Woman found stabbed to death at Armand-Frappier Park in Laval

Laval police are investigating after a woman was fatally stabbed in a local park in the Chomedey district.

Police received a 911 call around 7:35 p.m. Wednesday to report that a woman had been seriously injured at Armand-Frappier Park, near the corner of Murray Avenue and 8th Street.

They found the victim with stab wounds to the upper body, according to Laval police spokesperson Stéphanie Beshara. First responders attempted to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither the age of the victim nor the nature of the injuries are known at this time.

Police say they arrested and questioned a 20-year-old man.

The major crimes unit is leading the investigation.

A command post has been set up in the area while investigators search for clues.
