A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found stabbed to death on a beach in Bournemouth.

Dorset Police said officers were called to reports of a double stabbing on Durley Chine beach at 11:42 p.m. BST on Friday.

A woman, aged 34, from Poole, was pronounced dead at the scene while a 38-year-old woman, also from Poole, is in hospital “with very serious injuries”, police said.

Superintendent Gavin House said: “No arrests have been made at this time. »

“A full and detailed investigation is underway.

“Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the woman who lost her life very tragically.”

Dorset Police said the area around Durley Chine beach had been cordoned off so officers could carry out a thorough investigation.

Superintendent House added that there would be an increased police presence in the coming days.
