Around 5:30 a.m., deputies with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office were called to a stabbing at a home near Coffee Pot Rock Drive and Highway 179.

According to YCSO, the sergeant went to the home where the stabbing allegedly occurred and found the suspect's mother and father, who had been stabbed multiple times.

YCSO says the suspect's brother helped the sergeant take action to save his parents' lives by stopping the blood flow to his mother's wounds and making a tourniquet for his father's arm.

The Sedona Fire Department quickly arrived and took over rescue efforts. Both parents were taken to different hospitals for treatment. Their current condition is unknown.

YCSO is on scene collecting evidence and investigating what led to the stabbing.
