Woman dead after shooting in northeast Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police has identified a victim who was shot and killed in the city's northeast early Sunday morning as an 18-year-old woman.

Officers were called to the 2600 block of Woodsedge Road, just off Westerville Road, around 12:35 a.m. for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Da'Mya Cummerlander suffering from a gunshot wound.

Cummerlander was pronounced dead shortly before 12:45 a.m., according to police.

It's unclear what exactly led to the shooting. No suspect information is available at this time.

The shooting remains under investigation.
