Woman charged with three felonies for alleged knife incident and spitting on police | Idaho

LAPWAI – A woman was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail after allegedly using a knife to slash a tire and then throwing the knife at the vehicle's owner.

On the evening of May 24, the Nez Perce County Sheriff's Office responded to the 300 block of Cloud Court in Lapwai after a stabbing was reported.

According to court documents, the alleged victim told a deputy that Gabriella Rodriguez, 18, allegedly stabbed a tire on his vehicle and then threw the knife at him. The knife, described as a “very large steak knife”, did not hit the victim. The deputy did notice a flat tire on the rear passenger tire of the victim's vehicle that appeared to match the size of the knife.

Rodriguez was nearby and denied the allegations. She was eventually placed under arrest. According to court documents, while placed in the deputy's patrol vehicle, she spit in the face of the deputy and a Nez Perce tribal police officer.

For the alleged spitting incident, Rodriguez was charged with two counts of battery on certain staff members. She was also charged with aggravated assault. All of the above charges are misdemeanors. She is also charged with misdemeanor criminal damage to property.

Rodriguez was transported to the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center. She appeared in court Tuesday and bail was set at $20,000. She is due back in court on June 5.
