Woman charged with murder of man stabbed at home

A woman will be charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a man to death.

Police responded to reports of a domestic incident in Sydney's eastern suburbs on Tuesday at around 6.15pm, going to a house on Murrabin Avenue in Matraville.

Paramedics treated a 37-year-old man with a stab wound, but he died at the scene.

Officers arrested a woman near the property, who was taken to hospital but has since been charged with domestic violence-related murder.

The 31-year-old was refused bail and is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on Thursday.

The house remained cordoned off on Wednesday morning as police continued to carry out forensic work at the scene, also in the presence of police dogs.
