Woman charged with alleged abuse of autistic boy

ELECTRA (KFDX/KJTL) — An Electra woman has been indicted by a Wichita County grand jury for allegedly abusing a boy who was said to have autism.

Christeena Clark has been charged with reckless battery on a child.

She was arrested on May 17, 2024 and is out on bail. The incident was reported to Wichita Falls police but is believed to have occurred in Electra.

A WFPD officer said he spoke to the victim's mother, who said she had picked up her children from their father's home in Electra. She said the father was away on business and his girlfriend wanted her to pick up the children because she had a toothache.

The mother said that after picking up the children, she was getting the boy ready for bed and saw bruises on his arms, chest, neck and hips. When asked where they came from, her son told her he had gotten into trouble and Clark had hit him with a belt all over.

The boy was questioned and he said that he was playing in his room and Christeena got angry with him and hit him with a belt on his body.

The officer said he observed bruises on the boy's right hip, left arm, right buttock, left shoulder and the right side of his neck.

Clark is scheduled to appear in court on July 12, 2024, in 30th District Court.
