Woman attacks teen at North Miami Beach IHOP, another person hit in head with syrup bottle

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL. – A 34-year-old woman was arrested Monday after attacking a 14-year-old girl at an IHOP in North Miami Beach, authorities said.

The incident was reported shortly after 10:15 p.m. at the International House of Pancakes, 1101 NE 163rd St.

According to the suspect's arrest report, the victim told police she and her family were dining inside the restaurant when they were approached by Precious Williams, who accused them of “talking bad” about her. four young children.

The victim said she and her family told Williams they hadn't said anything bad about her children, but Williams refused to listen and rushed toward the teen, grabbing her hands. hair and yelling at him.

According to the report, the teen then pulled Williams' hair in an attempt to get him to stop attacking her, and the victim's family and Williams' husband eventually separated them.

Police said Williams claimed one of his children, ages 3 to 8, told him someone at the victim's table called them “n*****.”

According to the report, Williams told police she told her child to ignore her, but eventually confronted the teen and her family to try to find out what was said.

She claimed the teen suddenly pushed her, and at that point grabbed her by the hair, sparking a fight.

But police said the entire confrontation was filmed on a cellphone and showed Williams standing over the teenager as she sat, shouting at her, before apparently attacking the victim without provocation.

Another person was also hit in the head with a syrup bottle by an unknown person as the two groups tried to separate, the report said.

Police said two restaurant employees claimed Williams was initially upset because she thought someone at the victim's table had called her children “naughty,” although none of the employees heard comments on Williams' children.

According to the report, employees expressed concern for the four children, saying Williams failed to supervise her children after the fight.

Williams was ultimately arrested on one count of child abuse without serious bodily injury and four counts of child neglect without serious bodily injury.
