RELEASE FROM HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE:

SCAM ALERT

(6/9/24) — The Henry County Sheriff's Office would like to inform the public that our Criminal Investigation Division has been working on an ongoing investigation which has led to an arrest this evening!

: Henry County Sheriff's Office

This afternoon, Melissa Bennett of 802 Curtis St, Paris TN was arrested by the Sheriff's Office Patrol Division on the following multiple charges. Impersonation of a licensed professional, theft of property under $1,000, criminal identity theft and criminal trespass.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office investigated a scam involving a home currently listed for sale at 825 Highway 69 North by Cannon Reality Group in Paris.

During this investigation, investigators discovered that the home was actually for sale through Cannon Reality Group, but was listed on Facebook by several accounts for rent. These accounts are associated with the phone number 810-447-9363 for a contact number.

This survey found that once you contact the phone number listed, the person you speak with will ask you several questions regarding your interest in the home. The person will then ask you to submit an emailed request along with a refundable $60 fee to an account provided.

These accounts and people have nothing to do with Cannon Reality Group based in Paris!! This house is currently for sale!!

The Henry County Sheriff's Office is asking if anyone has been a victim of this scam regarding the listed phone number or listed home to contact us at 731-642-1672.
