Woman arrested for animal cruelty in Hollister

Third animal cruelty case in as many months leads to another arrest in Hollister. On May 23, Hollister Police Animal Services along with the San Benito County Sheriff's Office were executing an arrest warrant on San Juan Canyon Road when they smelled a strong odor. smell of feces on the property, which led to a search warrant being obtained. Once the search warrant was obtained and animal control officers entered the home, officers say they discovered two cats living in unsanitary conditions. Both cats were seized from the home and taken to the Hollister Animal Shelter, where they were treated and are currently being housed. Officers initially went to the residence after receiving reports that a local resident had intentionally run over a rooster and was kicking chickens, injuring them. A. Dina Iden, 61, of Hollister, was arrested for animal cruelty and booked into the San Benito County Jail.
