Woman arrested after four-man fight in city center leaves man unconscious

A woman was arrested for interfering with police after a man was knocked unconscious when two other men jumped him near Fifth and Center streets.

Police said another man was with the victim and fought off the attackers around 2 a.m. on May 12.

Police officers on patrol nearby broke up the fight.

A 24-year-old Taylor woman “yelled profanities at officers and obstructed them while they were trying to help the unconscious man,” said Royal Oak Police Sgt. Nathan Heppner.

She was arrested and faces a misdemeanor charge.

Impatient woman in dentist office vandalizes her computer

Employees at the Dental Works office, 30760 Woodward Ave., called police after a patient dropped a desktop computer on the floor Monday.

Police said the woman came to the office to ask for X-rays and staff said she appeared angry.

The staff members were all busy and the woman was advised to wait her turn. She became furious and began yelling at all the staff members, police said.

The woman started to walk out the door to leave, but stopped to push a computer off a desk, causing it to fall to the floor and cause damage, police said.

Man playing loud music in gas station parking lot arrested for cocaine possession

Police were called to the Mobil gas station at 11 Mile and Campbell roads following a noise complaint as a man with a flat tire blared music from his Ford Expedition while driving through the parking area.

Officers arrived and said the 45-year-old Warren suspect claimed he was just a passenger in the SUV. He told police the vehicle's owner lived nearby and had gone to get tools to repair the flat tire around 3:40 a.m. Wednesday.

“He became loud and angry at the officers,” said Royal Oak Police Sgt. Nathan Heppner. “He refused to listen to the police and was arrested for disturbing the peace.”

Police soon discovered that the suspect was not a passenger but the owner of the vehicle.

Officers searched the SUV and found suspected crack cocaine on the driver's side floorboard.

Drug charges against the man are pending laboratory test results on the suspected cocaine.

A man evicted from his apartment tries to return

A 28-year-old man, evicted from his apartment in the 300 block of East Parent, allegedly tried to return.

The building's owner told police the man was evicted and his belongings were placed near a dumpster on May 11.

But when the homeowner returned Wednesday, May 15, he noticed the man's vehicle in the parking lot.

The homeowner called police after going to the apartment and finding the door and lock damaged, and some of the man's belongings were brought inside, police said.

Police arrived and collected some of the belongings from the apartment, including a sledgehammer, a pillow, a blanket and a thermos.

Police were unable to find the man and continue to search for him.

Four cars stolen in the neighborhoods

Four cars have been reported stolen in the last five days.

The most recent thefts were reported Thursday when a man reported someone stole a Honda Civic and an Acura from the street in front of his home in the 100 block of North Edison Ave.

The same day, another vehicle owner reported a Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen from their driveway in the 3500 block of Woodland Avenue.

On May 11, a resident's 2023 Subaru Outback was stolen from outside the owner's home in the 1200 block of Diamond Court.
