Woman arrested after fatal collision with motorcyclist in Rialto – San Bernardino Sun

A driver was arrested on suspicion of murder after her SUV crashed head-on into a motorcycle in Rialto on Sunday, killing the motorcyclist, Rialto police said Tuesday.

Sunday at 5:32 p.m., Rialto Police received reports of a vehicle and motorcycle collision in the 200 block of West Valley Boulevard near Riverside Avenue in Rialto.

Authorities arrived at the scene of the collision minutes later and found Roger Norris, 59, of La Verne, suffering from life-threatening injuries, a police news release said. Norris was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he died at 5:58 p.m.

Rialto police found that Norris was driving a motorcycle eastbound and Monica Granger, 48, of Riverside, was driving the other vehicle, a white Toyota Highlander, westbound approaching Willow Avenue.

“For an unknown reason, Granger crossed the painted median into opposing lanes where a head-on collision occurred with Norris,” Tuesday's news release said.

Granger was not injured.

Granger was arrested on suspicion of murder and gross negligence manslaughter, according to San Bernardino County Jail records. She was being held on $1 million and $60,000 bail at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, according to arrest records.
