Witnesses report shooting outside Revere supermarket – Boston News, Weather, Sports

REVERSE, MASS. (WHDH) – An apparent shooting was caught on video outside a Revere Stop and Shop Tuesday, with two men appearing to argue outside an SUV before a shot was fired.

Witnesses say they heard the gunshot and called the police. Officers responded to the scene and closed the supermarket while they investigated.

“I heard the pop and I was like, 'Oh my God, is he going to come after me,'” one witness said.

As the video shows, the driver of the SUV gets out and pushes a man in a white shirt. Then witnesses say he shot her.

The victim backed up before the driver and another person got into the SUV before it backed up. All of this was captured by a camera in a nearby car, although the driver was still too shaken to speak on camera.

“I kept looking straight and I was like, 'Please don't come at me,' so they left and I said, 'Thank you,'” he said.

As police investigated, shoppers stopped but were forced to wait for the store to reopen. And they were stunned to learn what had happened.

“I just saw police cars. I asked what was happening and — a shooting? Oh my goodness,” said one shopper.

“It's sad. It's really sad,” another shopper said.

Stephanie Cunha, a spokeswoman for Stop and Shop, called the apparent shooting an unfortunate incident and said those involved were cooperating with police.

“The safety of our associates and customers is a top priority for us, and we are grateful to local law enforcement and first responders for their quick response,” Cunha said.

Revere police did not respond to a request for information.
