Wisconsin missing person investigation turns into death investigation

CLYMAN, Wis. (WFRV) – Deputies with a Wisconsin sheriff's office say they have turned a missing person case into a death investigation.

On Thursday, June 27, a 37-year-old man Crystal Rasch of Clyman has been identified as a missing person by the Dodge County Sheriff's Office. She had reportedly been missing since June 11.


Many transactions made on his financial accounts were processed on Friday, June 28, and his Her ex-husband, Zachariah Rasch, 42, was taken into custody on charges of unauthorized use of personally identifiable information.

Zachariah appeared in Dodge County Court that Friday and was issued a $250,000 cash bond after the court commissioner found probable cause.

According to an updated press release from the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, they are continuing to investigate Crystal's disappearance. During the investigation, they determined that this was no longer a missing person investigation. The case has become a death investigation.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office said no additional details regarding the death investigation will be released at this time in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation.

Zachariah appeared in court on Wednesday, July 3, for a review hearing. He will have another review hearing on July 10 before his preliminary hearing on August 1. He remains behind bars at the Dodge County Jail.
