Wisconsin Dells man arrested following child pornography investigation, deputies say

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A 31-year-old Wisconsin Dells man was arrested following an investigation into an internet crime, the Adams County Sheriff's Office in Wisconsin reported Tuesday.

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office, the investigation began after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent out a cyber tip. The report noted approximately 65 images of suspected child pornography shared or downloaded with other users.

Investigators also learned that the suspect was also under investigation by the El Paso, Illinois Police Department for allegedly sending child pornography videos or images and communicating with a person he the suspect believed to be a 15-year-old girl.

On June 21, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation executed a search warrant at the suspect's home in the 3600 block of STH 13 in Wisconsin Dells.

The man was taken into custody on an active Illinois warrant for ten counts of distribution of child pornography, one count of indecent solicitation of a minor and one count of grooming.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice was among several agencies that assisted the Adams County Sheriff's Office in this investigation.

Authorities continue to investigate the case.
