Winona man injured in Highway 61 crash involving teen

A 72-year-old Winona man was injured Thursday in a crash on Highway 61 involving a teenager and a child.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2013 Ford Explorer was traveling east on Bundy Boulevard in Winona around 3:32 p.m. when it attempted to turn left onto Highway 61 to head north.

The vehicle collided with a 2015 CanAm Spyder Roadster 3-wheeler traveling southbound on the highway.

The driver of the Roadster, Dale Troy Klabo, 72, of Winona, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Winona Health.

The driver of the Ford, Nevaeh Dashay Johnson, 19, of Green Bay, and his passenger Eli Richard Zeller, 12, suffered no injuries.

Zeller's city of residence was listed as unknown by the State Patrol.

Zeller and Johnson wore seat belts, while Klabo wore a helmet.

No alcohol appears to have been involved in the crash and road conditions were reported to be dry at the time.

Winona police posted on social media Thursday afternoon, advising the public to avoid the crash area, which was cleared Thursday at 5:47 p.m.

Winona police, firefighters and an ambulance responded to the scene.
