Wilson County Officers Search for 3 Suspects in Fatal Shooting at Tennessee Marina

Police believe three suspects were involved in a robbery that turned deadly at a Wilson County marina Saturday and are working on leads.

A 27-year-old man was killed outside Cedar Creek Marina, 9120 Saundersville Road, around midnight.

The victim was not identified due to family requests, Wilson County Sheriff's Capt. Scott Moore said. The man was described by police as an “innocent bystander.”

According to the initial investigation, police believe the shooting occurred after an armed robbery.

Mt. Juliet police had responded to a report of a robbery at the Cedar Creek Marina restaurant just before the shooting was reported, according to the department.

The armed suspects ambushed restaurant staff, and two staff members were assaulted and forced to open a safe, police said.

The two workers were treated and released by doctors on site.

The 27-year-old victim was found dead in his vehicle, police said. Officers tried to treat the man until emergency services arrived, but he died of his injuries, they said.

The restaurant is within Mt. Juliet city limits, but the parking lot is under Wilson County jurisdiction, police said.
