WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A judge has sentenced a Wichita man to more than 32 years in prison in connection with the deaths of two people in 2022.

Chief Judge Jeffrey Goering sentenced Elijah Sullivan, 20, to 391 months in prison.

In May, Sullivan pleaded guilty to two counts of voluntary manslaughter, criminal discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

The victims were Amill Williams, 21, and Alonzo Montgomery, 20, of Wichita. On February 21, 2022, someone shot at their car. The victims started driving faster, crashing into a tree near Lincoln and George Washington. Both men died and a woman in the car was seriously injured. An investigation showed that the bullets did not hit either victim.

Four people have been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Williams and Montgomery.

Sullivan and Javion Wimbley, 18, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. Wimbley was sentenced in June to more than 30 years in prison.

Two other suspects remain charged with two counts of first-degree murder and other charges. James Lowe, 21, and Tre'Breh Jones, 21, remain in the Sedgwick County Jail. Their trials are scheduled for later this year.
