When will Hunter Biden be sentenced? Date of conviction of the president's son

What we know so far about Hunter Biden's conviction, the likelihood of an appeal, and the sentencing date.

Earlier this week, a Delaware jury found Hunter Biden, the son of current US President Joe Biden, guilty of three counts related to the gun he purchased illegally in 2018. This news follows to the historic decision of a Manhattan court which found Donald Trump guilty. of committing campaign finance violations to conceal a “hush money” payment to adult film star Stephanie Clifford, known professionally as Stormy Daniels. The conviction of the president's son took the breath away from Donald Trump, who claimed to have used the legal system as a weapon against him. Donald Trump and his legal team have already announced their intention to appeal this conviction. The former president's sentencing hearing will nevertheless take place on July 11.

When will Hunter Biden's sentencing hearing take place?

Although Hunter Biden was found guilty, it will be up to the judge to determine his sentence. Biden's legal team will have the opportunity to ask for clemency before the sentencing hearing, which has not yet been scheduled. The maximum prison sentence for the crimes committed is twenty-five years, but most legal experts believe that since this is Hunter's first offense, he would serve a much lesser prison sentence if the judge asked to serve a sentence behind bars.

Biden's younger son will have the opportunity to appeal the court's decision, but the legal team representing Hunter has not announced that is its intention. However, Father Lowell, one of the defense team members, said he and his team “will continue to vigorously pursue any legal challenges Hunter may face.” Appealing is one of the most obvious ways the team can continue its fight to prove its clients' innocence.
