Reality TV star Amber Portwood's off-screen life has been eventful, to say the least. THE Teen mom The star's fiancé, Gary Wayt, went missing and fans immediately pointed the finger at her.

His past history is also riddled with legal issues, which only makes matters worse. She asked for fans' support during this difficult time, insisting nothing catastrophic had happened between them. Eventually, Gary was located.

What happened to Amber from 'Teen Mom'?

Amber and her fiancé reportedly vacationed in the mountains of North Carolina. On June 9, 2023, however, Amber reported to the Bryson Town Police Department that Gary was missing.

The two men reportedly had a tense conversation before leaving without his phone and heading to a nearby town. After a day of no response, police officially declared him missing.

They wrote on Facebook: “Missing person GARY R. WAYT. 39 years old. 6'01″ 205 lbs, bald with brown eyes, last seen on 09/06/2024 in the Arlington Ave. area of Bryson City NC Drive a gray 2009 Nissan Rogue SUV with a license plate of the State of Indiana For information, please call 828488-2196 Ask for Chief Robinson or Chief Dover. [sic].”

Amber was uploaded to Facebook, according to The mirrorwhere she explained the situation to fans, saying “there wasn't an explosive argument,” but rather a conversation that “had something to do with her parents being Vietnamese and me being who I am “.

“We are very much in love. This man asked me to be with him. This man asked me to marry him. I didn't touch this man in a horrible way. He doesn't touch me in a horrible way. We don’t yell at each other,” she insisted.

Days after being reported missing, Gary was found, according to ABC11. Police reportedly closed the case, but were cautious about the details they released to the public.

Bryson City Police said WLOS that it was originally spotted through a car camera in New Mexico and Oklahoma. They wrote on Facebook: “No further information available at this time. Case closed.”

Amber has previously been accused of domestic violence.

The reality TV star was arrested in 2019 for attacking her ex, Andrew Glennon. He allegedly held their child in his arms at the time of the incident and Amber later pleaded guilty to domestic battery, criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child under 16 years old.

“I just feel a lot of guilt for not being self-aware more than I should have. And I'm really ashamed that I didn't get that because I should, after everything I've done, change,” she said in an episode of OG Teen Mom.

Although she was not charged over the incident, an episode of the show also showed Amber punching her former partner, Gary Shirley. The 2010 situation led to a lot of controversy against Amber.
