Wetumpka resident arrested on drug charges | News

The Elmore County Sheriff's Office took illegal drugs off the streets and made an arrest.

Michael Bozeman, 39, of Wetumpka, was arrested Wednesday following a search of his home on Owens Road.

“We obtained information that he was involved in the sale of narcotics and were able to obtain a search warrant,” said Capt. Ric Boruillard of the Elmore County Sheriff's Office. “We found meth, marijuana and weapons inside.”

As law enforcement searched Bozeman's property, he attempted to dispose of some drugs.

“He threw it down the toilet,” Boruillard said. “When he did this, we can accuse him of any mixture of these. Anything that tests positive for meth, we can charge for it.

Bozeman was arrested and charged with drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment, second-degree possession of marijuana, and being prohibited from carrying firearms. some people.

“He has a prior felony conviction,” Boruillard said.

Bozeman was taken to the Elmore County Jail where he has a $1,532,000 bond.
