West Lampeter Township man charged with setting fire to mobile home | Local News

A West Lampeter Township resident was arrested Sunday after allegedly setting fire to the mobile home where he and his wife lived, according to police.

Scott Seladones, 53, was charged with arson, risking disaster and recklessly endangering others, the West Lampeter Township Police Department said. He is currently incarcerated in the Lancaster County Jail on $80,000 bail, according to Detective Philip Strosser of the West Lampeter Township Police Department.

The residence at Conestoga Mobile Home Park in West Lampeter Township was empty during the fire and there were no injuries, according to the West Lampeter Township Police Department.

Seladones fled the scene and was arrested at the Dirty Ol' Tavern in Lancaster Township, Strosser said. Police were dispatched to the mobile home park at 1014 Willow Street Pike at 12:20 a.m. Sunday and made the arrest “probably within an hour” of the incident, Strosser said.

Employees at the business at 917 S. Prince St. alerted police after Seladones allegedly told other patrons at the bar that he had set his house on fire, Strosser said.

Strosser said an officer on scene told him the incident was related to an alleged marital problem between the suspect and his wife. Seladones' wife was not in the mobile home when the fire occurred, according to Strosser.

Firefighters had the fire under control at 1:33 a.m. Sunday, according to a Lancaster County Wide Communications dispatcher.

Residents of surrounding mobile homes were evacuated, but have since been allowed to return, according to Strosser. There was no significant damage in the area surrounding the homes, he said.
