Wayne County Sheriff's Department and Wayne County Probation Department Make Recent Arrests

On May 30, 2024, at approximately 7:30 p.m., personnel from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, along with the Wayne County Probation Department, arrived at a rural residence in Fairfield to conduct a compliance check. Upon arrival, officers observed Timothy Barnett, 54, in the backyard of the residence. Barnett went back inside the house to get the homeowner. Deputies discovered Barnett had active arrest warrants from Douglas and LaSalle County. After searching the residence, officers found Barnett hiding in a closet and took him into custody. In addition to the arrest warrants, Barnett was charged with obstructing a peace office. Aimee Barr, 32, of Rinard, was also found in the residence and was in possession of methamphetamine. Both individuals were transported to the Wayne County Jail.

Later, at approximately 8:15 p.m. the same day, personnel from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, along with the Wayne County Probation Department, conducted another compliance check at the residence of Christopher Hedden, 57, in Fairfield. Deputies found Hedden in possession of methamphetamine, leading to his arrest and transport to the Wayne County Jail.

On May 30, 2024, at approximately 10:52 p.m., personnel from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, along with the Wayne County Probation Department, conducted a compliance check at the Oakley Kempiak residence in rural from Wayne City. Deputies found Kempiak, 34, in possession of methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl and deputies discovered Kempiak was wanted on a Jefferson County arrest warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Wayne County Jail.

Later that night, at approximately 11:15 p.m., personnel from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, along with the Wayne County Probation Department, conducted another compliance check at the residence of Matthew Frazier in Wayne City. Deputies found Frazier in possession of methamphetamine. Frazier was arrested and transported to the Wayne County Jail.
