Warren Police: Children in the Crosshairs; neighborhood “littered” with shell casings

“Undeterred by the persistent efforts of Warren Police investigators, the victim refused to cooperate despite the risk posed to the community and neighborhood filled with young children,” police said in the news release.

Police say a victim isn't telling investigators about a shooting that left a Warren neighborhood “littered with shell casings.”

A police news release reports the shooting happened in the 2300 block of Stephens Avenue NW shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the shooting took place in a yard where children were playing “in the line of fire.”

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was shot and hospitalized with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.

“Undeterred by the persistent efforts of Warren Police investigators, the victim refused to cooperate despite the risk posed to the community and neighborhood filled with young children,” police said in the news release.

Police are asking anyone with information that could help identify those involved in the shooting to contact Warren Police Department Criminal Investigations regarding case 24-12835 at 330.841.2684.
