A Warren man was arraigned Tuesday in 37th District Court in connection with the stabbing of his roommate at the Kings Pointe Apartments Monday night.

Reginald Davontae Harris, 22, is charged with assault with intent to cause serious bodily injury, a 10-year felony, and assault with a dangerous weapon, a four-year felony.

Harris has pleaded not guilty. Judge John Chmura set bail at $50,000 cash and ordered Harris to have no contact with the victim, an 18-year-old man.

Warren Police Detective Lt. Scott Isaacson said the two men were arguing and the disagreement escalated, leading Harris to cut his roommate's arm. Officers arrived at the apartment near 12 Mile and Hayes roads and found the victim bleeding profusely.

“I would like to commend Officer Burke for applying a tourniquet to the victim's arm because it probably saved his life,” Isaacson said.

The victim is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for July 2 at 8:45 a.m. before Judge Michael Chupa.
