Warrant issued for man who shot person on I-465 near I-70 interchange

INDIANAPOLIS — An arrest warrant has been issued for an Indianapolis man who allegedly shot another person after slapping them.

Jamie Montesdeoca, 35, is wanted for allegedly shooting while stopped on the highway earlier this month, according to court documents.

Court documents allege a woman was stopped on the highway and called one of her mechanic friends. When the mechanic arrived, Montesdeoca was already there.

Montesdeoca knew the driver of the car was in trouble, according to court documents.

The mechanic got out of their car to speak with the driver of the broken down car and, as he did so, Montesdeoca yelled at them and slapped them in the face.

Montesdeoca, there in his own vehicle, got back into the car – a white work van.

According to court documents, Montesdeoca then pulled up next to the mechanic's car – a Jeep Wrangler – and began shooting.

He then leaves, according to court documents.

IMPD was able to track down Montesdeoca's work van, but has not yet located him.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Montesdeoca on the following charges:

  • Intimidation with a deadly weapon
  • Criminal in possession of a firearm
  • Criminal recklessness
  • Pointing a gun
  • Battery
