Wanted Redding felon arrested after leading police on chase in Shasta County | News

SHASTA COUNTY, CA. – A wanted felon was arrested after leading police on a chase in Shasta County, Redding police said.

Around 3 p.m., a Neighborhood Enforcement Unit officer observed a black Honda Accord committing numerous California Vehicle Code violations on Highway 273, police said.

Then the officer turned around and tried to catch up with the Accord, police said. Accord drove recklessly west on Clear Creek Road as he passed several cars across the double yellow line, nearly causing several accidents.

The officer found the Accord near the Clear Creek Bridge near Cloverdale Road, police said. The deal was abandoned.

With the assistance of Watch 31, CHP Northern Air Operations, Anderson Police Department, K-9 Riggs and CAL FIRE Prevention, Joshua Haller, 38, and Rachael Toso, 43, were located in shrubs near Clear Creek Pit, police said.

Haller had an active warrant for his arrest, police said.

Over the past year, Haller repeatedly tried to evade law enforcement, police said.

Haller and Toso were booked into the Shasta County Jail. Haller is charged with reckless driving, resisting/obstructing/delaying arrest and driving with a suspended license. While Toso is accused of complicity.
