Wanted men arrested at Motel 6 on I-71 in separate incidents: Middleburg Heights police blotter

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio –

Arrest Warrant Executed: Engle Road

A wanted Cleveland man, 26, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. June 10 at Motel 6, 7219 Engle.

Someone had called the police about a man and woman arguing in one of the rooms at Motel 6. When police arrived, a motel employee said she wanted the couple be kicked out of the room.

However, when the police went to the room, there was no one there. Shortly after, the man from Cleveland appeared. He said he and his wife got into an argument and she drove off in their vehicle.

Police learned the man was wanted in Elyria. They met Elyria police at a bus stop and delivered him.

Arrest warrant executed, driving with suspended license: Interstate 71

A wanted Cleveland man, 32, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. June 9 on I-71.

Police noticed the man's Honda hatchback pulling out of a hotel parking lot on Rosbough Drive. The man did not signal as he turned south onto Engle. The Honda's windows were dark.

Police stopped the hatchback as it entered southbound 71. The man did not have a driver's license. Police learned he was wanted for a probation violation in Montgomery County.

Shoplifting: Southland Drive

Police hope to identify and charge a man who stole nearly $400 worth of alcohol around 5 p.m. May 31 at Giant Eagle, 6869 Southland.

Security video, seen four days after the robbery, showed the man placing several bottles of alcohol in a gym bag and a bottle in his waistband. He left the store without paying.

Possession of drug paraphernalia: Bagley and Engle roads

A Warrensville Heights man, 36, was cited and summoned to court around 10:30 a.m. June 10 after police found a digital scale in his car.

Police stopped the man's Buick Lacrosse in the parking lot of a Marathon gas station at Bagley and Engle because the car's windows were too dark.

A police K-9 was brought to the scene and indicated that the Buick may contain narcotics. Police found the digital scale in the driver's side door.
