Wanted man arrested after bike chase in Brazos County | KWKT

BRYAN/COLLEGE STATION, Texas (FOX 44) – A wanted man was arrested after leading Bryan and College Station police officers on a chase.

College Station police received a call around 2:50 p.m. Wednesday regarding a wanted man, identified as Ennis Jay Steels IV, 37, of Bryan, seen riding his bicycle on a sidewalk in the north part of the city . Steels already had seven arrest warrants – including assault causing bodily injury, resisting arrest, surrender bail, evading arrest and three arrest warrants for theft of property.

The department told FOX 44 News that Steels was spotted by officers around 3:15 p.m. Steels took off on his bike and a chase was underway. The steelheads took Texas Avenue near Bryan.

The Bryan Police Department assisted College Station Police in setting up a perimeter in the area of ​​Holick Drive and Dunn Street. Steels arrived in the area, got off his bike and attempted to escape authorities on foot. He entered the yards of several residents during this escape attempt.

College Station police say Steels was successfully apprehended around 3:30 p.m. He is now charged with possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest, in addition to the seven arrest warrants.

Steels is being held at the Brazos County Jail. His bond is set at $99,000.
