Wake County stabbing in neighborhood near Knightdale sends one to hospital

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. (WNCN) — Wake County deputies are investigating a stabbing in a neighborhood that sent a man to the hospital late Saturday morning, officials said.

The incident was reported as a stabbing around 11:40 a.m. in the 1200 block of Moore's Creek Drive near Knightdale, according to a news release from the Wake County Sheriff's Office.

When deputies arrived, they found a man suffering from an “apparent” stab wound, the release states.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His state of health has not been disclosed.

Around 1 p.m., several police officers were gathered outside a home, five patrol cars were parked nearby and a crime scene tape was displayed in the front yard of the Moore's Creek Drive home.

As of 3 p.m., officers were still on scene “to determine the circumstances that led to the incident,” Maj. Eric E. Keevert of the Wake County Sheriff’s Office said in the release.

“This is an active investigation,” Keevert said. “This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no known threat to the community.”
