Wack 100 Posts Bail For Alleged Killer Keefe D To 2Pac, Judge Denies Release

Keefe D, the man accused of murdering Tupac Shakur, was blessed with a guardian angel of sorts last week as Wack 100 posted bail. Despite this gesture, a Nevada judge refused to authorize his release.

A hearing was held last Tuesday (June 25) in the District Court of Clark County, Nevada, with Carli Kierny presiding. The prosecution and defense presented arguments regarding the alleged killer's release, and Wack 100 appeared via Zoom to make his case. Wack admitted to paying $112,500 to bail out Keefe and that the money came directly from his company 100 Entertainment.

“I know him in passing. I know his son,” Wack said when asked about his relationship with the 61-year-old accused. “We sat down and talked many times about general personal things while he was dealing with cancer. Personal stuff, industry stuff. Just a regular conversation (…) He has always been a monumental guy in our community. And I have helped many people in our community, whether it was with funerals or bail.

However, Wack 100's glowing statements about Keefe D were to no avail. CBS News reports that the prosecution argued that the record executive had selfish desires to free the alleged killer because he wanted to feature Keefe in a series of video interviews. They provided evidence in the form of a Vlad TV interview where Wack admitted to this exact plan, thus leading the judge to bar Keefe's release, preventing him and Wack from profiting from the ongoing case. His lawyers have not yet commented on the decision.

Keefe D was arrested last September, just two months after a search of his home. He was charged with murder with use of a deadly weapon with intent to promote, aid or assist a criminal street gang. He is believed to have killed Tupac to avenge his nephew, alleged triggerman Orlando Anderson, who was attacked by the late rapper and his Death Row Records crew after a Mike Tyson boxing match in September 1996.

Police believe Keefe D did not act alone in Pac's murder, but instead that three other men were present. Anderson, who died in 1998, is one of the suspects, along with two other men who also died.
