VPD arrests 34-year-old suspect in stabbing investigation

VALDOSTA – The Valdosta Police Department has arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with a stabbing investigation on Hightower Street.

Arrested: Malcolm Noel Holsendolph, African-American male, 34, resident of Valdosta

On June 24, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Valdosta Police officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Hightower Street after a citizen called E911 to report that someone had been stabbed. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 35-year-old man suffering from a head injury. Officers immediately administered first aid until South Georgia EMS and Valdosta Fire Department arrived on scene and began treatment.

As police began investigating the incident, they were informed that the victim had been in an argument.
with Malcolm Noel Holsendolph, 34. Holsendolph asked the victim to go outside to the front yard of his residence. As he did, Holsendolph assaulted him. Holsendolph then left the scene.

Officers found Holsendolph at his residence, which was not far from the victim's residence. Holsendolph
was taken into custody without incident. Holsendolph was transported to the Lowndes County Jail and charged with:

  • Crime of aggravated assault; and
  • Possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

The victim was transported to South Georgia Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
